Biography

Groundation is a reggae band from California. It was established in 1998 by Harrison Stafford, Ryan Newman and Marcus Urani. Groundation's music is a fusion of Roots Reggae, Funk/Jazz fusion, and transcendental Dub. Their concerts incorporate live improvisation which borrows heavily from their jazz influences. “Groundation” is a Jamaican patois word, meaning “a meeting for reasoning and ‘overstanding’”.
